New Focke -Wulf Ta 152 from Pacific Coast Models

Post  Guest on Thu Mar 05, 2009 10:15 pm

I've seen pre orders being taken and a news release form PCM that their new Ta 152 will be out soon

We just received good news from Sword about our Ta-152H-1 kit. They have completed their move to a new building and re-started production. They will start injecting the last sprue on Friday, March 6th. All the resin pieces are ready now. They stated that the plastic, resin and assembly instructions will be ready to ship late next week. Eduard will be making the PE sets. We have the kit boxes, decals and color marking/painting instructions in our warehouse now. So we should be able to receive this kit in the 3rd or 4th week of this month.

Plastic, Resin and PE from Eduard, can't wait to see a review of this little gem from someone.

For those challenged in the great aircraft of WW2, the Ta152 was a derivative of the FW190D built under the direction of Kurt Tank as an answer to the threat of the B29 being used in Europe. Longer wing span and more powerful engine made it one of the fastest production aircraft of the war. But like so many other weapons systems Germany developed, it was too little too late. I believe only one survived the war out of only 150 being deployed. It packed some firepower also, 2 20mm cannons in the wingroot and one 30mm cannon in the spinner. Only a few rounds would take out a Allied bomber. It never had the chance to prove itself in battle though they did record some kills against British fighters.

PCM also talked about the restock and release of some tracks and stuff Fruilmodel but since I don't need any more mud pushin' targets hanging around I didn't really pay attention to it, you mud heads may want to check it out. What a Face

They have some interesting looking subjects on their website, if anyone has any experience with Pacific Coast Models please share. They have some prices that are mid range in my book, not as high as Trumpeter for their 1:32 scale stuff but more than the other folks in the field. I'd like to see some first hand comments before I fork down my stimulus...that I don't have...

Photo of one of the Ta152s. I can't tell what version this one is from this angle, the wider wing span would mean it's either E-2 or H-0 or -1 depending on the firepower.
