Miniart US Tankcrew NW- Europe

Always a sucker for US-Tankcrews I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one.
you get five figures on two grey sprues.
The first thing I noticed when opening the box, there is surprisingly a lot of flash, I dunno if this was just my
particular production batch but if so it's not so pleasant.
The guys wear all winter clothing, the commander has a mackinaw.
My impression is that the clothing looks crisply enough, with good natural looking folds and creases, some small parts of the uniforms
are separate for extra detail. specially the shoe-pacs look pretty convincing.

now for the heads... this is a real let-down. they are coarse and plain butt-ugly.
reminded me of some good-ole italeri vintage stuff, yes, that bad.. affraid

never the faint-hearted I tried to paint them anyway, considering myself not such a bad figure-painter but after several runs with lavish application of
paint-killer for yet anotiher re-run, I just gave up. Don't know if it's just me but I think it's not worth the pain(t) bothering with them.
get some decent resin-noggins and you gonna be fine.

so apart from the heads, all in all I think you get a real nice set of plastic figures for your Shermy in some late ardennes diorama.
