leFH18/40, Sd.Kfz.11 - 'LOST!!'
Hi folks
This is what I think I will build for this Group Build, here is the 'Howitzer going mate' gun:

To be in tow behind a Leichte Zugkraftwagen 3t Sd.Kfz.11 Einheltsfahrerhaus PoopenSchfinterfarten Sumthinorother

On a small base with a couple of figures in casual poses, I have no idea what they will be, I rarely do figures. Actually, feel free to make suggestions. Thanks
Cheers

Oh Kewl , Hmmm Figures
..... Leave it with me
.
A Leichte Zugkraftwagen 3t Sd.Kfz.11 Einheltsfahrerhaus PoopenSchfinterfarten Sumthinorother , well I think the shortened version is LikethepizzaHaus and they were often used to deliver food to troops on the front line (specially the Italians) .... actually the back of the tray is ideal to carry a looted cupboard with ultra realistic woodgrain finish
Do you envision the tractor actually towing the gun or alongside it in a firing position ?

You know, sometimes I think you two are using English, but you're just using some strange Antipodean patois.
It's good fun though.

Hi guys, thanks for looking. At last I'm getting round to this, here are the dated start photos:

Now I've opened the plastic and looked at the sprues, I can say the parts looked real sharp and finely detailed. They appear to be very nice kits (so far).
Cheers

Hi Gary, I aim to please: here is progress on the howitzer.
Did I say these look like nice kits? Oh well
The breech, frame and recoil rail are done. There's lots of small parts to the kit, and unfortunately they don't fit together very happily. You can see the grey material which is Mr Surfacer 500 that I used to fill gaps.
The arrow points to the recoil cylinder pushrod, which was styrene but I replaced with a bit of a paperclip. I did this because it's already shiny metal.

The poor fit and seam removal really slow things down. Thanks for following.
Cheers

Hiya JT ,
Well it is a good start I think unless it is firing , shouldn't the recoil cylinder butt (crease) up to the breech ?

Hi Gary,

Burney bad!!!
Hi Jenny, well spotted!! The gun is not glued in there yet. With such keen observations, we cannot help butt increase our knowledge!!
Cheers

Hi folks, here are some progress shots. As you can see the kit includes a turned aluminium barrel and brass recoil cylinder. There's no PE and I'm not going down that road, but many of the small details do lend themselves to a PE upgrade.

There are some sink marks, some of which already have grey filler shown here. The tricky ones are inside the wheel rims:

Assembly almost done. Cheers!

Hi, the leFH18/40 Howitzer is built and ready for paint. Despite my criticisms, it builds into a nicely detailed model.

The main components left unglued, ready to be painted.

Next the halftrack, plus some items to be organised for a small diorama also.
Cheers
