Merkava Mk. IV Tracks Experiment Successful!!

Post  Dman on Sat May 16, 2009 2:57 am

I received my test shots of the Merkava Mk. IV tracks today and they are a complete success!!

My thanks to Terry Barrow for doing the 3d design work and Print-a-Part for getting them done and to me so fast.

Below is a link to more details of the track and the Merkava/Nakpadon Droids.

Print a Part? We have one if those 3d printers at work. I have earned some points with the engineers so I can get some quality time with one of the Cad guys and kick out some parts.

These look great, nice clean sharp looking.

Getting my mouth shut now. They look stunning! Are they intended to click together? Please excuse the question, i´m not really in the Merkava topic: what is wrong with the tracks in the new kit?

Regards,

Thomas

The Academy kit tracks are of the length and link type. A bit stiff looking in my opinion, and they have 2 ugly knock out pin marks on every other link of the length parts and on every link of the single links.

We will have prices for the tracks next week. Both the complete sets and the visible sets. Unfortunately because of the costs involved they will not be cheap.

I'm expecting the full sets to be in the $75.00 to $80.00 price range and the visible sets to be in the $55.00 to $60.00 range.

But the fact that they are pre-assembled, they have no clean-up and you do not have to worry about lead rot or other issues with metal tracks over time, it isn't out of line.

We have sold over 200 sets of our LVT tracks at $89.95 in the past 2 years, so somebody wants 'em.

And yes Bill and I will be at the IPMS Nats this year.
